After a thorough nationwide search, the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County has selected Maryann Edwards as the new CEO for the organization. Mrs. Edwards, who currently serves as a Councilmember for the City of Temecula, officially began her new position on June 28th. “I feel that we have found the best possible candidate for the job. I am confident that Maryann has what it takes to lead the organization and will help to take us to the next level,” said Amy Minniear, Board President.
“For many years, I have enjoyed working as a volunteer with the board and staff at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest County. I have seen firsthand how the Clubs’ after school enrichment programs and hands-on mentoring have positively impacted the lives of tens of thousands of kids, their families, and our community. I look forward to continuing the high level of youth development programming that the Clubs are known for. I am excited about the opportunity to finish the work that was started on our flagship Clubhouse in French Valley. Ultimately, when the project is finished, we will have a 10,000 square foot clubhouse, basketball courts, soccer fields, a baseball diamond and a gymnasium. We plan to begin sports programming in spring of next year. We look forward to serving all of the families in the French Valley area for years to come.” Said Edwards.
