MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER – Cy Rathbun

Meet the Photographer

BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY:

My business philosophy is to capture the essence of the person or product being photographed. To consider each client is the most important and assisting them is building a successful business with creative photo and video assets. I also enjoy helping some local nonprofits when possible. I find that giving is good for my spirit and helping a worthwhile organization helps the community.

AFFILIATIONS:

Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment and the Arts, Founding Member of the Temecula Valley Motoring Enthusiasts.

GOALS:

Develop a strong self-sustaining photo video business that will continue to serve the community and beyond.

INDUSTRY & ACCOLADES:

I have received countless success awards and acknowledgment. The most important is from The Murrieta Chamber of Commerce winning ‘Ambassador of the Year’ in 2014. I think I’ve come full circle and can’t image anything that would top that.

MENTORS:

My first Mentor was my grandfather. He taught me anything worth doing is worth doing well. Early in my career Bob Roubian from The Crab Cooker taught me the commonality of all men and women is, of course, food. We may not come from the same so- cioeconomic places, but we can always share a story about a good meal. And food brings us all together.

AVORITE READING:

How to win and be successful was my main interest. My reading choices have made me who I am today. Among my favorites are As a Man Thinketh, Hung by the Tongue, Think and Grow Rich, How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling, Iron John, Four Pillars of a Man’s Heart, Success Motivation and Scriptures and, of course, The Bible.

FAVORITE SPORT:

I’m not really a stick and ball kind of guy, I’m more of an internal combustion kind of guy. I enjoy all forms of auto racing, whether watching on TV, view- ing in person or participating myself. I would love to get back to the point where I can build another custom car.

RESUME:

I began my career in the food business as a pot and pan washer. Over the next 50 years I performed just about every position available from cook to manager/area manager to management training and marketing. After years getting ahead in the restaurant management industry, I went to selling food, mostly seafood. I was instrumental in several seafood market trends and excelled and became West Coast food service manager for Castle and Cooke Foods selling to companies like Sizzler, Steak & Ale, and Papa John’s pizza.

My interest in photography began back in high school and continues to this very day. In 2012, I became a Google Business View Trusted Photographer providing the virtual tours of businesses to clients in the valley and Southern California.

COMPANY NAME:

Pano Central, photography and video production.

EDUCATION:

After graduating from high school, I attended college but did not finish. I consider my degree a life-learned hard knocks education. I learned that I can do anything I want to if I believe in myself.

BIRTHPLACE:

I was born in Grand Rapids Michigan. I moved to California in the sixties with my family. Then, I moved to Murrieta in 1988 and have considered this home since.
