Rancho Damacitas Hosting Intimate Evening Through the Vines

Wine, Dine & Laugh Your Way through an Unforgettable Night

Rancho Damacitas Children & Family Services will hold its 2nd Annual Intimate Evening in the Vines on Thursday, April 27, 2017. The event will be hosted by Rob & Trish Shea, teachers and community advocates for foster youth.

“We love that Rancho Damacitas provides such a positive model for foster children, because it teaches them what a nurturing environment looks and feels like,” said Trish Shea. “We are truly looking forward to hosting Intimate Evening! This event is a wonderful way to gather support for our cause while celebrating at some of the best venues that Temecula Valley has to offer!”

The unique, all-inclusive event begins at Pechanga Resort & Casino where guests will be whisked away in VIP transportation to Ponte Family Estate Winery. Guests will enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres at Ponte’s Barrel Room while listening to guitar duo, Desert Rose. They will enjoy a farm fresh dinner under the stars while being entertained by Brian Stodart, local pianist, guitarist and vocalist. The evening will end at Pechanga’s Eagle’s Nest where guests will enjoy dessert and a private comedy show featuring Dustin Nickerson, 2015 finalist of the San Diego’s Funniest People. The all-inclusive ticket price is $200 and includes all the above festivities. Proceeds from the event will benefit former foster youth on their path to independent living through Rancho Damacitas’ Project Independence Program.

Riverside County is home to over 4,500 foster children. Of those, 600 teens will “age-out” of foster care at age 18 each year. The outcomes for these youth are grim with 65% of emancipated youth transitioning out of care without a plan. Two years following emancipation, 50% of all former foster youth remain homeless or unemployed.

Ranch Damacitas recognized the need to provide extended programs to young adults struggling to get on their feet. The Project Independence Program provides transitional housing, employment readiness, college scholarships, life skills training and mentorships for these former foster youth.

About Rancho Damacitas – Founded in 1983, Rancho Damacitas Children & Family Services’ mission is to end the cycle of child abuse by providing comprehensive care and compassion for foster children, challenged youth and young adults through life-enriching opportunities and strength-based, solution-focused programs and services.
