100% of proceeds benefits former foster youth – Rancho Damacitas’ exclusive event, Intimate Evening, was a huge success.
Guests provided rave reviews and looked forward to next year’s event. The event began with VIP transportation on the Dream, Hope, Inspire, Courage and Believe Shuttles provided by Stryder Transportation and Temecula Winery Transportation. Guests’ first stop was at Ponte Family Estate Winery where they were entertained with live music by Desert Rose and nibbled on gourmet appetizers and wine. Their next stop was at Peltzer Winery, where guests enjoyed a farm fresh dinner by Southfork Catering, wine and the beautiful music of local entertainer, Brian Stodart. The last stop on the adventure was Pechanga’s Eagles Nest, where guests had dessert, signature cocktails & were entertained by a private comedy show put on by Dustin Nickerson, 2015 finalist of San Diego’s Funniest People.
One of the many highlights of the evening was the program hosted by Rob and Trish Shea, teachers in Temecula Valley Unified School District for the past 22 years and long-time advocates for foster youth. Rob and Trish shared the importance of programs that help former foster youth as they transition from foster care to adulthood. Trish shared passionately about how Rancho Damacitas programs offer transitional housing, college scholarships, employment readiness, and mentorships that help young adults with a history of child abuse move from dependency into independency. With 50% of former foster youth remaining homeless or unemployed after two years of leaving foster care, there is a great need for these programs.
