The 2nd Edition of the Temecula Valley Century which takes place on Saturday, September 29th, is presented by Rabobank and Temecula Velo. This event benefits “It’s Not About The Bike,” a 501C3 Corporation, supporting local Temecula Valley Charities & Organizations including Jacob’s House, The Boys & Girls Club, Michelle’s Place, S.A.F.E. alternatives for everyone, Heart for Children, Cast A Shadow, Temecula Women’s Club, the Temecula Bicycle Coalition, the Temecula Bike Train, Jon Boy’s, Inc. and The Gary Sinise Foundation.
The TVC has 3 rides each highlighting scenic Temecula Valley and Wine Country. They are Century, Metric Century, and The Wine Country Tour. New this year is The Rabobank Ten Miler. It’s the perfect ride for the beginner. This ride is limited to 500 participants & it’s FREE! Participants MUST register online.
The Century Route is a challenging 100 mile course highlighting some of the best cycling routes in the valley – De Luz, Wine Country and La Cresta. This year Hammer Nutrition is the On-Course nutrition sponsor. The Metric Century is challenging but with less climbing. The course includes the Wine Country and the short but steep ascent of Pauba Road.
The Wine Country Tour is for those who are ready to add some distance to their workouts. This course is mostly flat with a few short rises along the way. All rides will begin at Town Square Park in Murrieta. All riders must obey traffic laws and practice safe & sane bike handling. This is not a closed course.
After your ride, enjoy the fun at the Bike & Health Expo including Live Music featuring the Ravelers, Kid’s Fun Zone with the Temecula Bicycle Coalition Cyclocross races & Big Wheel Challenge plus a Gourmet Meal by Cynthia Brooks Distinctive Catering and The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Beer & Wine Garden.
On Friday the 28th, renowned cycling coach, Chris Carmichael & his professional coaches from Carmichael Training Systems, will be conducting a Skills Clinic.
