The organization plans to use the funds to continue the build their new gym/multipurpose room, as well as supporting their autism programs.

‘An Evening Under the Oaks’ is always a successful fundraiser for Oak Grove, but this year far outweighs years past,” exclaims Tammy Wilson, CEO. “With our gym under construction and scheduled to open this year, we really needed to knock this one out of the ballpark. Budget cuts and the economy have been challenging, but thanks to the support of so many businesses and individuals, we reached our fundraising goals.”

Each year, Oak Grove Center announces the winner of the Big Oak Award at An Evening Under the Oaks. This honor is given to one business or individual who has made a tremendous impact on children.  This year, the award went to Todd and Christine Close with Murrieta Development Company. The couple and their business have taken a lead role in the building of the new gymnasium on the Oak Grove Murrieta campus. In 2008, they were an integral part of building four separate classrooms so that Oak Grove could accommodate a growing number of students with autism and other developmental disabilities. “We are so thankful for Todd and Christine and the legacy they are building,” states Wilson. “Because of their generosity we were able to add autism services and now a gym to better meet the needs of the youth we serve.”
