Ballroom Dancing: More than Exercise

arthurmurray1Ballroom dancing is the best activity for adults that are in their “Prime.” It’s not only a perfect form of exercise but there are numerous other benefits as well. It is a low impact form of exercise, so you will not hurt yourself doing it and as long as you can walk, you can dance! It also helps fight Alzheimer’s because it forces you to continue to use your brain to learn a brand new skill. You are not only thinking about your feet and the patterns, but also driving around the dance floor, and maybe even talking to your dance partner all at the same time! It is excellent for the mind!

It is also a great social platform. Whether you want to enjoy it as a single or as a couple, there is a place on the dance floor for you. There is nothing better for the sprit, body, and mind than to have the connection and interaction with other human beings. At Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Temecula, you will find some of the best people from the valley dancing together. Ballroom dancing is the one activity that brings together people from their twenties to their seventies and beyond. It is one the best things to come to the studio and see a 20 year old dancing with a 70 year old at one of the studio’s group classes or weekly parties. No where else do we get that opportunity! Everyone has a place to belong at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Temecula!

Some of the other benefits include helping people sleep better, becoming more confident, and becoming more socially active. Whatever you are looking for, ballroom dancing will be the perfect activity for you! A perfect quote from a “vintage” aged student is “You’re only as old as you act!” So, always keep dancing and you’ll never be a day over 39!

This past January Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Temecula went to a competition in Hawaii where we competed not only in the professional categories and won both of those, but we also danced with two students; one was 69 and one was 77! They both danced great and won numerous awards that week! So, just remember nothing is impossible, and change your life today: Start Dancing!
