JDS Creative Academy (JDSCA) has a jam-packed new year in store. The 9th annual DigiFest® Temecula event is on April 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2025. The weekend will be filled with inspiration, learning, networking, entertainment, and more! Submit your digital creative content to be considered for a Digi Award, an Honorable Mention and/or a People’s Choice acknowledgment! Early entry submissions close on January 31st. Prepare for another creative semester of visual, performing, and digital learning at JDSCA. The Spring 2025 extracurricular classes begin the week of January 27. Secure your spot now at jdscreativeacademy.org. Youth, teens, and adults of all abilities are welcome. The only requirement is a passion for creativity, learning, and growing.
The nonprofit will now offer a Creative Writing class on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. taught by award-winning writer and producer, Johanna Lack. Delve into the art of storytelling and create your own unique story! For ages 14 and up!
Then, Wednesdays will be filled with endless creativity. Discover “A Whole New World” this semester as JDSCA’s Musical Theater production will be Disney’s Aladdin. Auditions will be the first two classes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Everyone will get a part in the production, you only need to sign up and show up! For ages 7 and up!
Also, on Wednesdays, the Backstage Production & Fashion Design class will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. You will learn hand and machine sewing, event production, and design skills. You will also work alongside the musical theater class creating costumes, props, and sets for the show before working backstage on the production of Aladdin. For ages 8 and up!
Interested in filmmaking? Join the Film class on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You will learn and execute the steps and processes of creating your own short film. Then, have your film screened at the Spring Showcase in May! For ages 15 and up!
If you are ready to dip your toes into the craft of acting, join JDS Studio’s year-round acting classes! Youth actors (ages 7-11) meet on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., teens (ages 12-17) meet on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Adults (18+) meet on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
