Storm Front Moves In – More Fun Ahead

It seems like only yesterday that The Diamond opened as a state-of-the-art facility hosting the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball team. Fast forward 20 years and the Diamond is still a great place for fans to watch the stars of tomorrow today. In addition, The Storm scored a homerun as California League Champions in 2011, they have become a major entertainment destination for Southwest County and Storm players, staff and mascot Thunder are staples at community events throughout the region.

“Our 2013 team has a lot of talent and are really fun to watch,” according to Raj Narayanan, Assistant General Manager and Director of Corporate Sales. “In addition we’ve expanded our family fun park, added more special events for groups, we have private suites for rent and are keeping our prices low so a family night at the ballpark doesn’t need to break the bank.”

Some of the special events coming to the Diamond this summer include their Chase Headley jersey giveaway night on 7/27. Headley, a former Storm player, went on to join the San Diego Padres and in 2012 the 3rd baseman was awarded both a Golden Glove award for his defensive play and a Silver Slugger award for leading the National League in RBI’s.

Other events and special promotions include Fan Appreciation Night on 8/25, evenings dedicated to Scouts, Chambers of Commerce, Reading Rewards, Anti-Bullying, Autism Awareness and many more. 7/15 is Nothing Night, where there is no charge for admission, you can bring your own food and drinks (but no alcohol), there will be no music or announcements and the crowd will sing the national anthem – an evening of good old fashioned baseball.

In addition there are regular weekly promotions like Military Monday, where members of the armed forces get 4 free tickets, Margarita Monday, $2 margaritas thru the 7th inning, Wacky Weenie and Wine Down Wednesday, when attendees get free hot dogs and wine tasting, Thirsty Thursday, $1 beer and soda thru 7th inning, Fireworks Fridays and Social Media Saturdays, where discounts and specials are offered on the Storm’s facebook and other social media sites. While there is no home game on July 4th, the Storm will entertain the High Desert Mavericks in the Diamond on July 3rd and stage their Independence Day Extravaganza and fireworks display that evening.

For information, game schedules and promotions, you can visit the official Storm Baseball site at http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t103  or get notified of upcoming promotions by liking the Lake Elsinore Storm on facebook.
