On Friday, June 13th, at 5:00 pm at the Gallery at the Merc, located at 42501 Main Street in the City of Temecula, Human Services Division will proudly present, “Meet the Artist: A Journey through Visual Arts”. This intimate event will showcase the artwork created by High Hopes participants and many others. The Visual Arts program is designed to give adults with special needs the opportunity for self-expression, life skills, coordination, and to explore ones’ imagination, in a safe and supportive environment.
This exciting program offered participants not only a creative outlet but a place to reflect, understand new concepts, and build confidence. One of the quote’s the instructor focused the students’ “journey” around was, “To the world you’re just one person, but to this one person you mean the world”. Each student brought something unique and special to the class, whether it was their love for food, jewelry, sports or animals. Students eagerly shared experiences, presented stories, and developed friendships through the program.
The “Meet the Artist: A Journey through Visual Arts” opening reception will give students a platform to showcase and share their artwork. They are proud to show off their artistic accomplishments and hope to have you join them in this celebration.
Opening night will be held on June 13th and be displayed until June 23rd. This event is free to the public, and light refreshments will be served. Please support your local artists and see for yourself how “A Journey through Visual Arts” can impact all of us in a profound and positive way. Additional parking is located in the Civic Center parking structure at 3rd Street and Main Street.
