Introducing Pianist, Paula Warren Arlich
Recently overheard at Vail Ranch Steak House in Temecula, where she performs on Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 5-9 PM, “She has the soul of a true musician.” Extensively trained in classical music, Paula Arlich’s background is truly overwhelming. Her mother played and taught piano professionally. At age three, Paula shoved her uncle John Williams, still a prestigious film composer, off their Vose & Sons baby grand piano bench saying “MY TURN!”
It’s been “her turn” ever since. Gigs started coming to her at age 13 via the weekly services at St. Paul Catholic Church in La Mirada. She has won every competition she has entered.
In 2000, Paula became the musical director for Broadway High/Starz, children’s theater. The program was ground breaking for using live musicians of all ages, performing under her direction. By 2005, Paula had released her nationally distributed CD “A Ray of Hope” to enthusiastic reviews. Today, “A Ray of Hope” can still be found climbing various internet music charts, garnering new fans every day. A second solo CD is in the works and will be completed soon.
In addition to playing 3 days per week at Vail Ranch Steak House, she works with The Broadway Starz productions, plays with the band “Guilty Conscience”, and is the Choir Accompanist & and assistant Musical Director for Thompson Middle School. She’s thrilled that Bryon Boos, Music Director at Thompson, just purchased a Kanabe grand piano specifically for her to play, from The Little Shop of Horns (& Keys) in Temecula. “She tested them all” said owner Ken Rice. She then said “this is the one!”
Her fans are amazed that Paula has the ability to play virtually any style of music. From Billy Holiday to the Rachmaninoff Rhapsody, there are over 750 songs in her live performance repertoire.
What do her many fans have to say about Paula?
