The Perfect Friday Night Getaway

Getaway to a town like no other in Old Town Temecula celebrating SummerFest and the 12th annual  Hot Summer Nights, July 8 through September 2, 2011. Each Friday night features live bands in multiple venues, family games, entertainment, and unusual balloon creations by Dynamite Dave.

 

Friday night hours have expanded by popular demand for 2011, with music going from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  It all starts Friday, July 8 with some old favorites and a couple of hot new groups.  The Bill Magee Blues Band headlines the evening at the Baily’s Courtyard from 7 to 10 p.m.

 

Each Friday night from July 8 to September 2, Hot Summer Nights presents a variety of bands and family entertainment.  Most family games and activities are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m.  Some bands play until 10 p.m.  See the schedule at www.temeculacalifornia.com for details.

 

Friday, July 15th sees three of the events largest bands with the biggest sounds.  The lineup includes Nitro Express (7 to 10 p.m.), L.A. Accident (6 to 9 p.m.), The Bash Band (7 to 10 p.m.) and guitarist Andrew Bell (6 to 9 p.m.).  There is no cover charge or admission for these concerts.  Additional live music can be found at the Temecula Wine & Beer Gardens, The Public House and the Gambling Cowboy.

 

Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz, the popular blues band that now tours the U.S. with their super-energized blues, returns to Baily’s Courtyard on July 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. The lineup around town that weekend includes Duchicela Andean Flute Band, Hoodoo Blues Band, the Bayou Brothers (Cajun) and the Kanan Road Band.  Beach sounds and classic rock are the tone for July 29 with the Califarians (Reggae), Safety Orange (original beach/ska/reggae), Two of Us Plus One, Older than Dirt and the duet Sean and Donna.

 

Hot Summer Nights is sponsored by the City of Temecula. This is the 12th year for the event which features up to five bands each Friday as well as family activities in Old Town Temecula.  Parking in the Old Town district is free. There are numerous restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and unique food choices for the palate and dozens of boutiques, antique shops and gift stores for browsing.
