Balloon & Wine Festival Announces 2016 Board and Officers

The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival Association recently announced the 2015-16 board members, officers and executive director.

Andrea Jacobson was named the executive director for the Festival, a 32-year regional event. Jacobson has worked for the Festival for six years and served as the 2015 operations manager. Prior to that, she served as the event coordinator. She was unanimously chosen by the board after staging a successful 2015 event where the Festival saw a record Sunday attendance. Jacobson also implemented some new design elements to the Festival in 2015 including decorative way-finders and signage.

The 2015 Festival realized an online ticket sales increase of 12% and premium ticket sales rose over 23%. Attendee profiles hit the marketing objectives with over 6% of the attendance coming from outside of the Southern California area, 33% coming from the Los Angeles and Orange County market area and 14% coming from the San Diego market. Additionally weekend hotel occupancy increased for Friday (3.7%), Saturday (5.8%), Sunday (20.6), and Monday (10.3%).

Each year the Festival elects a slate of officers from their board. The 2015 officers are: Scott Soares -Chairman of the Board, May Lorah – Vice-Chairman, Beverly Voechting – Secretary, and Scott Vinton – Treasurer. Board members at large are: William Babb, Brett Davidson, Peggy Evans, Chapman Fiene and Brian Keefer.

Soares, a perennial volunteer veteran of the Festival served as vice-chairman of the 2015 Festival and as chairman of the board for the 2012 Festival.
