UHS Recognized Again by Fortune Magazine

UHS owns 4 of our regional hospitals, Corona Regional, Inland Valley Medical Center, Rancho Springs and Temecula Valley Hospital. They also own Palmdale Regional.

I want to share news that reflects well on our company and the work that you do.  We have just been informed that Fortune Magazine will once again include UHS among its “World’s Most Admired Companies” in next month’s issue.

Let me offer some perspective about why this is significant. This is not simply a view of our company based on what a few editors and reporters think. Instead, surveys are sent to more than 15,000 senior executives, outside corporate directors and industry analysts who are asked to rank companies based on nine attributes. Overall corporate reputation is an average of the attribute scores.  In the category of “Health Care: Medical Facilities,” we ranked in first place for Innovation, Financial Soundness and Global Competitiveness, and second overall among all companies in the category.

Thirty-eight years ago, my hope was to build a company that would make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. It is very gratifying that once again this year UHS has been recognized by Fortune as a “World’s Most Admired Company.” This is just one recent metric that recognizes UHS as a leader, and there are many others. I view this recognition as a reflection on you and the other dedicated people throughout our company who make it their mission every day to put patients first while delivering high quality healthcare. These are the two cornerstones of UHS, but these cornerstones are made real by the dedication of our 77,000 coworkers.

Thank you for the work that you do that has resulted in this exceptional recognition.  Alan B. Miller
