Last month, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced it endorsed Ken Calvert’s re-election to represent California’s 42nd Congressional District in the House of Representatives. NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization.
“It is an honor to receive the support of American job creators who are the backbone of our economy,” said Calvert. “I proudly delivered on my promise to support long overdue tax reform that gives our small businesses and taxpayers much needed relief. I will continue to work with our entrepreneurs to enact solutions that allow them to succeed and grow.”
In announcing its endorsement, the NFIB indicated Congressman Calvert’s re-election is critical to the small businesses in the 42nd Congressional District, and they look forward to continue working with him on important issues. Specifically, NFIB is focused on issues important to small businesses, including health care, regulations and taxes.
“As a former small business owner, I know what it’s like to sign the front of a paycheck and how much those paychecks mean to hardworking families,” added Calvert. “I will continue to support policies that create jobs and grow wages.”
Congressman Calvert is a former small business owner from Corona currently serving as a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee. Prior to Congress, Ken was a successful businessman in restaurants and commercial brokerage and development.
“I supported tax cuts because you deserve to keep more of your hard-earned money. I also voted to eliminate job killing red-tape so American businesses can better compete in the global economy,” said Calvert. “These votes resulted in bonuses, higher wages, and investments to expand small businesses. “
Calvert’s legislative work has received top ratings from the Americans for Tax Reform, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, League of Private Property Voters, National Federation of Independent Businesses, 60 Plus Association, Small Business Survival Committee and Citizens for a Sound Economy.
