NAFE October Meeting Features Anika Ortiz

Please come and join me and my co-director Shelly Ruffin at the Temecula Nafe meeting. Come and hear a great speaker, Anika Ortiz and tell us what you do and how we can help you and have a great meal and do lots of networking.

Anika Ortiz may look like a typical 15-year old, but she isn’t. With a list of honors, awards, and most well-deserved accolades, including being named as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Orange County”. Just last year alone she did 19 speaking engagements all over Southern, CA. and has been featured 10 times in various newspapers and 5 magazines in Southern CA. Anika has received over 17 awards in 2017. A few years ago. Anika lost her older sister Alejandra to domestic violence. Alejandra was murdered by her estranged husband. Since then, Anika has dedicated her time to help victims of domestic violence and bullying. She became an entrepreneur at the age of 11, when she started a monthly pop-up boutique (2015) called Anika’s Pink Closet a 501 c3 non-profit where she sold gently used clothing, accessories, shoes and toys. She dedicated this to her sister Alejandra by donating a portion of the proceeds to local domestic violence support organizations.

In addition to her school studies and entrepreneurial responsibilities, Anika is a gifted motivational speaker who has spoken at numerous schools where she shares her “Healing Journey.” She also speaks at events for organizations that encourage community service and support children. Anika teaches classes for girls age 6 to 17 on a variety of topics such as confidence, positivity, respect and bullying.

Anika’s business which is a 501 c3 non-profit has been re-branded to Anika’s Peace Project as its more relevant to her new projects and mission. The next big project is her 2nd annual “Young Entrepreneurs Summit” coming up in December and new and exciting projects that will be shared very soon. When you hear her story, you will see a young girl that in-spite of a tragedy that hit their family is touching young lives everyday of her life and making a difference. Don’t miss this presentation.

In addition to speaking for Temecula Nafe at their October meeting she is also the speaker for the General Federation of Women’s Menifee/Sun City Woman’s Club lunch meeting on October 8th.
