An Evening of Innovation

On June 11th from 5 to 9 pm there will be a celebration of innovation at Bear Creek Country Club in Murrieta. The event is presented by InSoCal CONNECT and the City of Murrieta and will showcase the many exciting innovation companies that reside in the Murrieta Innovation Center.

Did you know that we have a genomic sequencing laboratory in Murrieta? You may have heard about 23andMe or, companies that use your DNA information to tell you interesting things about yourself. DNA is the building block for all life, and Murrieta Genomics provides the technology, know-how and business expertise to help scientists and entrepreneurs bring more sequencing ideas from the lab and into the market!

Two of the companies in the lab, EpigeneticsRx and Gene Tox Lab Solutions, are focused on using genomic information in order to better treat and prevent disease. The lab wants to attract researchers in human health, veterinary health, agriculture, forensics and consumer applications.

What if we could use fruit flies to screen molecules and compounds for new drugs? Lyceum Pharmaceuticals is developing a program to do just that!

One challenge of bringing clinical diagnostics to rural areas is the fact that you need to separate the blood cells from the plasma to conduct diagnostic tests. Gattaco, Inc. has designed a device that can do this in the field without the need for a centrifuge.

One company that wants to incorporate Gattaco’s technology into a point of care diagnostic device is Sand Hill Crane Diagnostics. They want to bring the clinic to the patient in areas of the world that badly need local healthcare access.

Are you fed up with boring surveys and useless questions? LitCentral has developed a unique patient experience software that takes subjective “feelings” and turns them into objective data so that one can truly understand what’s happening with patients.

Cancer is a huge health threat. Trio Pharmaceuticals is developing a new approach to deliver treatment that can eliminate cancer cells while reducing side effects and toxicity.

Each of the companies above will be giving a five-minute presentation on their company and what they are doing, followed by a short Q&A. There will be dinner, networking and a unique insight into the new regional biotech research and development hub being created right here in our own back yard! Get more information at
