People looking for ways to “give back” to their community and beyond can check out the Murrieta Rotary Club which now offers alternative meeting times to accommodate a variety of work schedules.
“Life has gotten more demanding for most of us and whether we are working in a business, school or are self-employed, time is limited,” said Jann Gentry, president of the Murrieta Rotary. “We have looked for ways to make getting involved easier for all, and the meeting option seems to be the way to go.”
In addition to its Monday noon meetings at Richie’s Diner, Murrieta Rotary is now offering a 6 pm Monday option at 8 Bit Brewing for meeting.
Members of the Murrieta Rotary Club produce the annual Field of Honor and Patriots Ball, held during the week of Veterans Day. The Field of Honor is a Signature Event in the City and provides valuable lessons for thousands of school children each year. Funds raised through sponsorships and flag sales are helping support the City’s military memorials plus a Murrieta through Time historical exhibit in Town Square Park. In addition to the Field of Honor, Murrieta Rotary provides funds for school projects, scholarships, and more.
Chartered on April 28, 1992, the club is also involved in international activities and programs, in cooperation with Rotary International, which has as its theme “Service Above Self.” Club meetings are held Mondays (excepting holidays) at noon at Richie’s Diner, 40651 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, in Murrieta, and now evenings at 6 pm at 8 Bit, 26755 Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta.
