Michelle’s Place Adds New Community Outreach Coordinator and Development and Fundraising Officer to the Team.

Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center is proud to announce the appointment of two new staff members. Debbie Parker, RN, BSN, has been named Community Outreach Coordinator. She will be in the community sharing information about the programs and services Michelle’s Place offers, as well as teaming up with health practitioners in bringing education to Michelle’s Place. “With my experience as a registered nurse and a longtime supporter of Michelle’s Place, I understand the importance of total patient care and am excited to collaborate with other health practitioners in bringing health education to our community”, said Debbie.

Kim Gerrish, Executive Director of Michelle’s Place says she is excited for the direction Debbie has taken community outreach. “Debbie is so passionate about providing education to our community… she is an asset to our team, and we are so pleased with the connections she has made.”, said Kim. Debbie lives in Murrieta with her husband and daughter, she has four other children and several grandchildren living throughout the United States.

Another role that has been filled is that of the Development and Fundraising Officer.

Jennifer Smith, a Rotarian of nine years, began serving the community through service projects with the New Generations Rotary Club. She became familiar with Michelle’s Place through her Club, which created a project with the Oasis Sewing Club of Menifee to sew Santa Sacks for Michelle’s Place Christmas party. The bags are then filled with toys for children whose parents are in treatment. “Having Jennifer as part of our team is a testament of community collaboration. As I have gotten to know her over the years through Rotary, I have seen the dedication she has to our community through her volunteer service in Rotary”, said Kim.

Jennifer will be overseeing fundraising and development through fostering relationships with members of the community.

Her experience as an office manager for a local chiropractor and being a licensed insurance agent will help her with further developing partnerships in the community. “I am very excited to join the Michelle’s Place team. I have enjoyed watching them grow and am happy to contribute to that growth through the expansion”, said Jennifer. Jennifer lives in Murrieta with her husband Matthew and is a graduate of California Baptist University.
