Murrieta City Hall Becomes Designated Passport Acceptance Facility

Preparing to travel out of the Country? The City of Murrieta wants to make your life a little easier. Effective October 1st, the Murrieta City Clerk’s Office is accepting passport applications during regular City Hall office hours. Photos are also available. No appointment is necessary, and the process should take about 15-20 minutes for forms, fees and photos. Applicants will receive their passport by mail from the State in four-six weeks, or two-three weeks with expedited processing.

“We’re always looking for ways we can leverage staff and facilities to serve the community,” explains Murrieta City Clerk, Stephanie Smith. “By supporting residents through the passport process, we can help applicants make sure they are filling out the right forms correctly and address any questions or concerns. This will reduce rejections and speed up the process. Our goal is to make the passport experience quick and stress-free.”

Smith adds that a big benefit is getting to work face-to-face with the residents she serves.

Prior to visiting City Hall, applicants are encouraged to stop by the City’s Passport Page at www.murrietaca.gov/passports. This webpage includes important details on State requirements for identification, local and State passport fees and special rules for children. It also provides links to new passport and renewal forms for those who chose to complete their documents at home and bring them to City Hall.

City Hall hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. alternate Fridays. Visit the City’s website at www.murrietaca.gov or call 951-304-2489 for additional information.
