Big Fogg Misting Systems: What to Know

Big Fogg is a leader in misting system rentals, sales, and installations across the country. Headquartered in the Murrieta/Temecula area for over 20 years, Big Fogg has been in business for over 25 years, providing solutions for outdoor cooling issues. Misting systems and fans are becoming increasingly popular as more people and businesses discover their benefits.

Misting Systems and Fans

Misting systems and fans come in various sizes, materials, and configurations, ensuring a solution for everyone. Prices vary depending on the complexity and scale of the installation.

How Much Pressure Should Be in a Misting System?

The required pressure depends on the use case and environmental conditions. For optimal results, choose a high-pressure misting system or fan operating at 1,000 PSI. These units generate 3-5 micron-sized droplets, achieving a 25-degree temperature reduction without residual moisture. For those on a tighter budget, mid-pressure systems operating at 300 PSI may be suitable, especially in dry climates.

How Do You Install a High-Pressure Misting System?

Big Fogg offers installation services through their technicians and a network of contracted installers nationwide. Mist lines can be secured to ceilings and walls of buildings or shade structures. Big Fogg has installed systems across the country and internationally.

Does a High-Pressure Misting System Work in High Humidity?

In humid climates, wall-mounted fans and portable misting systems are best. These fans aid in the evaporation process, keeping the environment cool and dry.

How Much Water Do Misting Systems Use?

Water usage varies depending on the system size and droplet size. Big Fogg solutions use less water than an average air conditioning unit, with high-pressure systems and fans using the least amount.

How Do You Clean the Misting System?

Misting system nozzles can become clogged with hard water deposits. Calcium removers or vinegar can clean the nozzles. Occasionally, nozzles need to be replaced to ensure top performance.

How Do You Build Your Own Misting System?

With over 25 years of experience, Big Fogg designs and constructs custom misting systems. They help select the best components, including nylon or stainless-steel misting lines, and determine the precise number and position of misting nozzles for maximum cooling.

How Big Fogg Got Its Name

Christopher Miehl was a founding partner in the company Cool Zone, which investment banks took a controlling interest in. The company was moved to Las Vegas, where the investment banks drove it into the ground. Christopher worked for Cool Zone in Las Vegas for eight months before deciding to leave and start a reputable misting company. He returned to San Diego and thought about what to call the new company. After attending a Smithereens concert in Solana Beach and staying up very late, Chris woke up the next morning not feeling great. He told a friend, “I feel like I am in a Big Fogg!” Then it hit him: Big Fogg, the name they’d been looking for. Since then, Big Fogg has been synonymous with misting, cooling, outdoor heating, and sports.

Ironically, over ten years later, Big Fogg was able to take back Cool Zone and make it part of the Big Fogg nation.
