For over two decades, Tammy Marine has been a cornerstone of Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley, dedicating her career to transforming lives and communities through the power of homeownership. As the President and CEO since February 2005, Tammy’s leadership has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach and impact across the region.

A Journey Rooted in Service

Tammy’s commitment to the nonprofit sector spans more than 33 years. She pursued her studies in business administration at Colorado State University and further honed her expertise by completing the nonprofit leadership program at California State University – San Marcos. Her academic background laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors in community service and organizational leadership.

Leadership at Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley

Since stepping into the role of President and CEO, Tammy has been the driving force behind numerous initiatives aimed at providing affordable housing solutions. Under her guidance, Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley has not only constructed homes but also fostered a sense of community and hope among residents. Her strategic vision has led to the development of programs that address critical home repairs, neighborhood revitalization, and veteran support, ensuring that the organization’s mission adapts to the evolving needs of the community.

Affordable Housing Advocacy and Statewide Involvement

Beyond her local contributions, Tammy has played a significant role on the state stage. She is a founding board member of Habitat for Humanity California and has served as Treasurer, demonstrating her commitment to fiscal responsibility and organizational excellence. Her involvement extends to the Advocacy Committee for both Habitat for Humanity California and Habitat for Humanity International, where she collaborates with peers to give input on housing policies and advocate for affordable housing solutions.

Community Engagement and Teaching

Tammy’s passion for service is evident not only in her professional role but also in her personal life. Residing in Temecula with her husband of 37 years, Scott, and their daughter, Lindsay, she has immersed herself in local initiatives. She serves on the board of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, contributing her expertise to promote local businesses and economic development. Additionally, Tammy shares her wealth of knowledge by teaching a nonprofit leadership program through Mount San Jacinto College, mentoring the next generation of leaders in the sector. Further demonstrating her commitment to community support, Tammy has also volunteered as an Expressive Art teacher at Michelle’s Place, a nonprofit organization that provides support services to individuals and families affected by cancer.

A Legacy of Impact

Tammy’s tenure has been marked by significant milestones. Notably, on June 16, 2022, she completed a four-year term as Chair of the Board of Governance for the Continuum of Care in Riverside County. In this capacity, she oversaw the administration of state and federal funding aimed at addressing homelessness. Under her leadership, the board established improved policies, tripled funding, and, most importantly, significantly reduced the number of unsheltered homeless individuals in the county—a testament to her effective and compassionate leadership.

Her vision for the future includes expanding partnerships, increasing the number of families served, and advocating for policies that support affordable housing.
