The way people give is changing. Across the country, nonprofits are feeling the impact of economic uncertainty, shifting donor priorities, and a growing reliance on large-scale charitable foundations. While these changes bring new challenges, they also highlight a critical truth—local giving is essential to sustaining the organizations that directly serve our communities.
At Mission Hope (formerly known as Rancho Damacitas and Community Mission of Hope), we see these changes firsthand. Mission Hope relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations, and community partners to continue our mission of fighting hunger and housing insecurity in our area. While national charities do great work, it’s the local nonprofits which ensure that families in our own neighborhoods have food on their tables and a safe place to sleep.
Thanks to our supporters, Mission Hope has expanded our reach and deepened our impact. Over the past year, we have:
- Provided 1,010,956 meals to families, seniors, and veterans struggling with food insecurity.
- Helped 10,033 people with food, supportive resources, and stable housing.
- Provided safe, stable housing for 42 single moms and children.
- Partnered with local organizations and volunteers to create sustainable, community-driven solutions.
These accomplishments show that when people invest in their own community, the results are life-changing. The landscape of giving may be shifting, but one thing remains the same—local nonprofits are the backbone of strong communities. By supporting Mission Hope, you are directly impacting lives, fostering hope, and building a future where no one in our area has to face hunger or homelessness alone.
