Golf tournaments come by the dozens in Temecula Valley. It’s important to choose one that benefits a nonprofit that you are passionate about and also offers great exposure for your business. One local organization is offering all of the above with a twist on the after-tournament banquet. The 11th Annual Oak Grove Golf Classic features the So-Cal Chef Open, one of Temecula Valley’s most well-attended events.
The So-Cal Chef Open is a culinary competition between some of the region’s most notable chefs. Last year’s winner, Chef Francesco Cusimano from Rustico Ristorante Pizzeria, took home the coveted title, “Best Chef of Southern California”. He, along with other judges and approximately 500 attendees, will help choose the winner of this year’s competition.
“We’ve built an event within an event,” states Tammy Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Oak Grove Center. “A golf tournament is a great fundraiser for any organization, but we wanted to take the banquet piece and turn it into something truly unique.
Sponsors and players in the golf tournament automatically receive entry into the Chef Open event, which is one of the only events that Pechanga Resort & Casino allows outside food to be served. Sponsors also enjoy the benefit of their business being marketed to the 500 people that attend the Chef Open. Wilson continues, “Most golf events cap at 144 people. We wanted to offer our sponsors more exposure. The Chef Open has been a great vehicle for us to do that.”
The 11th Annual Oak Grove Golf Classic will take place on Monday, October 14 at Journey at Pechanga. The Chef Open will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at Pechanga Resort & Casino. Golfers will join as they conclude the tournament. Sponsorships for the golf tournament start at $100 and tickets to the Chef Open are $40 before October 10, when they will increase to $45.
