O’Donnell-McCann Receives Award

101.3 The Mix, KATY-FM and Azusa Pacific University, Murrieta Regional Center has awarded our September winner for our “Teachers Are Heroes” Promotion. A big congratulation goes out to Ms. Anne O’Donnell-McCann from Rancho Elementary School in Temecula, the first of nine teachers who will be awarded throughout this school year.

Nominated by Laura Forberg, Ms. O’Donnell-McCann received great prizes including, a large bag of school supplies from Target’s California Oaks location, plus, the entire 1st grade received a pizza party from the Pizza Factory in Temecula. Here is an excerpt of the nomination submission: “Mrs. O’Donnell goes above and beyond her job description. She [has] put together a before school drama club so that students can experience theater. She also [has] put together a character building group.”

Teachers can be nominated by students, parents, and even other school administrators. Winners are selected based on compelling submissions from nominators on the effective and creative ways teachers work with students.
