For some of us, the entrepreneurial spirit hits at a young age. Take Brandon Weimer and Leah Post for example. In 2006 these two La Quinta high school students decided to make and sell toffee to fund a class trip to Europe. But they didn’t stop there. Over a few short years, that endeavor turned into a thriving family business, Brandini Toffee in Rancho Mirage, and they have garnered some pretty impressive endorsements along the way. They’ve made Martha Stewarts “Best Desserts” list and Oprah’s “O list”. They have also won many regional awards such as the ‘Inland Empire Spirit’ of the Entrepreneur award and the ‘Best Chocolate Shop’ in the Coachella Valley.
Inspirational success stories from young people like these are why we should all strive to support our local schools. Sponsored by the Temecula Valley Foundation for Excellence in Education, ‘The Taste of Temecula’ event is an easy way for you to do just that. It’s a great day out and fun for the entire family. There will be live entertainment, arts and crafts, and lots of food, wine and beer tasting. According to the event’s Chairman, Mark Katan, “This event is good for our local economy, and it benefits students in our district.”
Artisan’s Palate is all about local support, and will have a booth at the event showcasing some of the delicious local artisan foods that we sell. All of the talented individuals who are trying to better their lives and ours through food have wonderful stories behind their creations, and Artisan’s Palate is dedicated to bringing you not only their products, but their stories as well. Of course, one of the products you will get to sample will be Brandini Toffee.
The Taste of Temecula event will be held on April 28th in front of Temecula City Hall. So bring the family for a fun filled-day, visit our booth, and support your local community!
