The Rotary Club of Murrieta is inviting the community to help it raise funds for the coming year’s charitable activities through its 16th annual Spring Fling, this year called a Rotary Fiesta.
Scheduled for Saturday, May 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Monteleone Meadows, the Cinco(x2) De Mayo fundraiser will feature dinner, a no-host bar and both live and silent auctions. In addition, Murrieta Rotary Club members are selling tickets for a week’s stay for two in Hawaii plus $500 to help in transportation getting there. Tickets can be purchased for $10 each or three for $25; winners do not need to be present to win.
Spring Fling table sponsorships are available for $5,000, $2,500, $1,000 or $500 with varying levels of recognition while individual tickets are $75 each. Proceeds go to the Murrieta Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization through which the club funds its programs.
“Participation in this event benefits our local community projects – including youth service and vocational programs,” said Craig Carper, President-elect for 2014-15 and this year’s event chairman. “We provide thousands of dollars in scholarships for high school students, leadership camps for high school and middle school students, grants to teachers seeking to enhance their educational tools, literacy enhancement in local schools and speech and music contests. And, we present a Valentine’s Dance for special needs adults.
“In addition, we participate in international humanitarian projects through Rotary International,” Carper added. “By sponsoring a table, you are contributing to our community and our world.”
