Randy A. Record Selected Chairman of EMWD

Randy A. Record, who has served on Eastern Municipal Water District’s Board of Directors since 2001 has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Board of Directors.

Record’s term as Chairman of the Metropolitan Water District will extend through January 1, 2017. He takes over for longtime Director John V. “Jack” Foley, who passed away in March. Record’s term is officially for the remainder of Foley’s two-year term, set to expire this year, and for the subsequent two-year period.

Record – a second-generation EMWD and Metropolitan Board Member – is the first Metropolitan Chairman from EMWD. Record, who represents the San Jacinto Valley on EMWD’s Board and is its current Vice President, has served on EMWD’s Board of Directors since 2001 and has represented EMWD on Metropolitan’s Board since 2003.

“I am honored to be elected by my peers to this position,” Record said. “Our state faces unprecedented water supply challenges and I am looking forward to facing those challenges head-on to secure a more sustainable water supply future for all of us.”
