Riverside County homeowners can go solar for $0 upfront and get paid up to $1,500 through Dec. 31st
Sullivan Solar Power, a leading Southern California renewable energy company, announces that its second phase of the Riverside County Solar Program has begun. Exclusive to Riverside County homeowners and businesses, the innovative program allows residents to go solar for no upfront cost and receive up to $1,500 cash-back for their involvement. With the first phase of the program ending, local residents are eagerly jumping on the solar bandwagon and signing up to go solar with the Riverside County Solar Program.
“Sullivan Solar Power championed the program to inspire residents to declare energy independence and make a longstanding impact on the community by reducing our carbon footprint,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of the firm, “We have a vision of changing the way Riverside County generates electricity by offering incentives that will build strong solar communities.”
The Riverside County Solar Program has completed its first phase of funding, with 250,000-watts of solar committed to be installed. Most program participants are installing a solar power system around 6,000-watts of solar capacity, eliminating their Southern California Edison electric bill and will receive a tax credit of $6,925. During the second phase of the program, community residents are still able to receive guaranteed cash-back incentives up to $1,500, in addition to monthly savings.
The Eldridge family, who lives in Murrieta, recently signed up with the Riverside County Solar Program to lock in their increasing electricity costs. Their 7,125 Watt solar powered system was installed in March. For the project, Sullivan Solar Power designed the system with 16 locally manufactured SunPower solar panels and an SMA Sunny Boy inverter.
The Riverside County Solar Program, similarly to the now expired California Solar Initiative state rebate for solar, is set up in a manner which provides the early adopters the greatest rebate amounts. Participants who sign up first will receive the largest incentives, and the amount of the payments will continue drop as more capacity is committed. Up to 500 participants are guaranteed cash-back incentives if they sign up to participate before the program expires on December 31.
