Outstanding teachers are our heroes! Mrs. Jennifer White, grade 9-12 English teacher at Murrieta Mesa High School in Murrieta, is among the dedicated teachers that go above and beyond. On Thursday, April 30th, representatives from Azusa Pacific University (APU) and KATY 101.3 The Mix, honored its final recipient for the 2014-2015 Teachers Are Heroes program.
White was nominated by one of her students who said about her, “I have never met a teacher more passionate than her. She is the reason I’m going to college and have a 3.8 GPA. She gave me hope for myself again. I don’t know where I’d be without her. I owe her everything.”
White has been teaching at the Murrieta Unified School District for 19 years. During this time she has also worked as a Resource Specialist in Special Education. Among the many hats White wears is that of advisor for the Class of 2015 and also as assistant coach of the Murrieta Rams Youth Cheer.
White’s classroom received a pizza party from The Pizza Factory in Temecula and prizes from KATY and APU. White and previous award recipients, including their students and families, will attend a special celebration held at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium on May 20th.
