Waste Management was recently named one of the Top 100 Companies Recruiting Veterans by U.S. Veterans Magazine, a publication dedicated to bringing employment, education and business opportunities to transitioning veterans and their families.
“Waste Management values veterans and the unique strengths they bring to our company,” said Larry Metter, Area Vice President for Waste Management of Southern California. “Recruiting veterans not only helps us strengthen the quality of our workforce, it also supports Waste Management’s ongoing commitment to diversity in our workplace. We are grateful for partners like U.S. Veterans Magazine, and will continue our combined efforts to help returning veterans get back to work.”
The magazine’s annual Best of the Best review is intended to recognize veteran-friendly companies and acknowledge their efforts in hiring and retaining veterans. The Best of the Best list is compiled from market research, independent research, confidential employee interviews and responses to surveys conducted by DiversityComm, the magazine’s publisher.
“We know that hiring veterans simply makes good business sense,” said Mona Lisa Faris-Placey, president and founder of DiversityComm. “Working together, we can help veterans reach great heights and receive the opportunities they so richly deserve.”
