National Night Out 2015 will be taking place August 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Town Square Park in Murrieta. The annual event is designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with one another as well as with local law enforcement agencies. The goal of the event is to offer crime prevention awareness along with support and participation in local anti-crime programs and most importantly, to organize neighborhoods to rally behind law enforcement to send a message that, together, we are all fighting back against crime.
The Community Outreach Ministry will offer free face-painting, SAFE KIDS coloring books, children’s personal identification kits and McGruff National Crime Prevention School Safety tips. These tools are being provided to parents to help improve the safety of their children.
National Night Out is sponsored in part by the Murrieta North Super Target which will offer participants free hot dogs and drinks. The free event will include raffles, a SWAT truck with demonstrations, K9 and bloodhound demonstrations, a police mobile command post and activities for youth.
