Sizzler Celebrates New Hemet Opening with ‘Spirit of Giving’ Event

The all-new Sizzler restaurant in Hemet was dedicated Wednesday, June 24 at a morning VIP celebration featuring local community and business leaders, as well as student musicians, ASB and cheerleaders.

Temecula-based BMW Management, Sizzler’s largest franchisee, operated by Gary and Sally Myers built and designed the 8,000 square foot, 250-seat restaurant. It opened June 4, replacing a smaller Hemet location. Called the “New Generation Sizzler,” it is 40 percent larger and employs nearly 100 staff.

The grand opening celebration included students from Tahquitz High School and Hemet High School, the West Valley JROTC, San Jacinto High, plus County Supervisor Chuck Washington, Hemet Mayor Pro Tem Bonnie Wright and San Jacinto Mayor Crystal Ruiz. The Mt. San Jacinto College Jazz Ensemble, San Jacinto High School senior Neil Beluso and vocalist David Moore provided music.

Continuing its tradition of giving back to its communities, BMW presented donation checks totaling nearly $10,000 to the school groups and students who participated in the event, as well as  the San Jacinto Valley Women’s Conference, Boxing for Christ, Salvation Army of Hemet, Hemet-San Jacinto Exchange Club, San Jacinto Assembly of God Church, Hemet-San Jacinto Student of the Month Program and Student Venture.

The restaurant features an all-new upscale design and décor, and a new menu that includes the addition of Certified Angus Beef brand steaks. Also new: a craft salad station. Guests select their favorite vegetables and then watch as Sizzler’s salad experts add new premium ingredients and dressings, toss them and create the perfect, personalized salad.

“Sizzler first came to Hemet in the 1970s, with BMW owning the restaurant since 1995,” said Gary Myers, president and CEO. “It’s been a wonderful partnership, and we cannot be more excited about expanding here and bringing our guests a new, state-of-the art restaurant that they will enjoy for many years to come.”

The Hemet Sizzler is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
