Diess’s completed specialized training in the art of conducting a successful benefit auction.
Auctioneer Darren Diess of Strategic Fundraising Solutions recently completed his training as a Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS). BAS is the industry’s premier training program for benefit auctioneers developed by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) for benefit auction professionals.
Diess joins an exclusion group, as there are less than 3% current BAS designation holders in an industry that estimates over 100,000 auctioneers in the United States. In addition, Diess joins a group of less than 30 auctioneers in all of California with the prestigious designation.
The BAS designation program educates attendees how to effectively conduct a benefit auction starting from an entire year out from the event to one month after. Attendees learn the psychology of how to plan and market events to maximize revenue for nonprofits, resulting in strong communities. BAS is an intensive, development program focusing on volunteer training, item procurement, donor development and sponsorship identification. Designees are required to complete the three day training, successfully conduct a specific number of benefit auctions and complete a final report before earning the BAS designation. BAS holders are also required to complete continuing education each year to maintain their status.
Diess has been an entrepreneur and sales expert for over 30 years. He is the founder of Strategic Fundraising Solutions and GIvingByTxt – providing benefit auction consulting, live auction and emcees services and a technical solution that allows for organizations to connect with their donors using a cell phone.
