On April 29th Esther Phahla, CPA, CTC was awarded the California Society of CPAs’ (CalCPA) Woman to Watch Award: Experienced Leader during the Society’s Women’s Leadership Forum held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The awards were given in two categories – Experienced Leaders and Emerging Leaders.
CalCPA selected the award recipients in partnership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and their Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee. In order to be selected for the awards, recipients must have demonstrated past community or public service.
Candidates for the Experienced Leader award were evaluated on their contributions in the following areas: authorship of articles; major or unique contributions to the profession; public and community service; mentoring of other professionals; and improvements to the workplace.
“I am honored to be recognized by the CALCPA in partnership with the AICPA and their Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee. I believe in servant leadership whether it’s in my business or community service and it is through paying it forward that we can all succeed”, said Esther.
