The City of Corona announced today that Kimberly Davidson has been selected as their Economic Development Manager. She will start in her role within the City Manager’s office on May 16.
Davidson has been the Business Development Manager for the City of Murrieta for more than seven years and has been making headlines in that role for just as long. Most notably, she was recently named “Woman of the Year” by Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez for her contributions to the community. She has also racked up awards such as “Citizen of the Year” in Murrieta and several other awards with the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce.
“Kimberly has the dynamic skills we are looking for,” said City Manager Darrell Talbert. “Not only does she have expertise in marketing and in business, but she is also very well-versed in government operations as they relate to economic development. This gives her the ability to be a very effective liaison to our business community.”
Prior to working at the City of Murrieta, Davidson owned a small marketing firm in Murrieta where she provided business consulting and graphic design services to several businesses in the Murrieta Valley. In 2008, she won the “Home Based Business Champion of the Year” award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in Washington, D.C. for her work in helping to facilitate start-ups in her region. Over the years, Davidson has served on the Board of Directors for several non-profits and has chaired the marketing committees for local business groups.
“A great way for any business to succeed is to be in a city that understands and appreciates the needs of its business owners,” Davidson said. “I look forward to being part of this team to help Corona’s business community grow and prosper.”
