Supervisor Chuck Washington Receives ‘2016 Outstanding Elected Official Award’

Inland Empire American Society for Public Administration has named Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington as the recipient for the ‘2016 Outstanding Elected Official’ award. Supervisor Washington was chosen by the ASPA board of directors, because he has proven to be an exemplary public servant.

The ASPA Board stated “Through his many years of service in the Inland Empire – specifically in Riverside County’s 3rd district, Supervisor Washington has served with diligence, commitment, integrity and resolve.”

“Those that have had the pleasure of working with the supervisor have shared that he is extremely personable, enthusiastic, easy to talk to, and extremely approachable,” stated

Emma Perez-Singh, president-elect Inland Empire ASPA.

The award is presented to an individual who is currently serving in an elective office and who directly represents residents of a city, county or district in Riverside and/or San Bernardino County. Supervisor Washington joins a list of previous recipients that includes: (2015) Janice Rutherford, San Bernardino County Supervisor, (2014) Larry Ward, Riverside County Assessor, (2013) Dick Riddell, Yucaipa City Council Member, (2012) Paul Cook, California Assemblyman, 65th District, (2011) Ronald O. Loveridge, Mayor City of Riverside, (2010) Wilmer Amina Carter, California Assemblywoman, 62nd District and (2009) John Tavaglione, Riverside County Supervisor.

During the June 23 awards banquet, the ASPA board also presented the following: Outstanding Rising Administrator – Susana Garcia Bocanegra, Principal Accountant County of Riverside Auditor-Controller’s Office, Outstanding Educator – Jerry M. Amendarez, Superintendent Colton Unified School District, and Outstanding Senior Administrator – Sue Lennan, Branch Chief III, Riverside University Health System.
