Temecula City Council Member Jeff Comerchero is Temecula Valley Learning Forum Speaker

The Temecula Valley Learning Forum meets the first Tuesday of the month at Mercedes-Benz of Temecula located at 40910 Temecula Center Drive in Temecula from 9:00 – 10:00 am.  The mission of The Temecula Valley Learning Forum is to provide a platform to keep our local community informed of issues, such as health care, taxes, local government, tourism, expansion and development that directly affect them.

Our speaker September 6th is Temecula City Council Member Jeff Comerchero.  Jeff Comerchero was appointed to Temecula’s Community Services Commission in 1993 and was elected to the City Council in 1997.  He has served 5 terms in office and has been Mayor 4 times.

Throughout his City Council tenure, Jeff Comerchero has represented the City on numerous regional and national Boards, Commissions and Committees including the Riverside Transit Agency, League of California Cities, National League of Cities, U.S. Conference of Mayors, Riverside County Transportation Commission, Western Riverside Council of Governments, and the Temecula Valley Hospital just to name a few.  In addition, he has been a member of Temecula’s Sister Cities’ organization, Yes on Measure C, and the Temecula Valley Film Council.  Jeff and his wife, Pat, were instrumental in the creation of Pennypickle’s Workshop (Temecula’s Children’s Museum) which has won numerous awards.

Council Member Jeff Comerchero has helped Temecula grow into a vibrant, safe and friendly city while keeping that small home town feel.  Under his leadership, Temecula has maintained a balanced budget, added a hospital, a high tech library, Community Theater and numerous parks.  Jeff has fostered economic growth by working with developers to expand the Promenade Mall and bring a wide variety of stores and restaurants to the City.  He has worked with colleges and universities to provide higher education.  Since he began his first term in office, the City has completed a wide variety of road improvements such as the French Valley off-ramp, Butterfield Stage Road, Overland Bridge, the Ynez northwest extension and the Temecula Parkway expansion along with numerous other road and freeway expansions.

In 2015 Councilman Comerchero created the initiative “Temecula Has Heart…Because Nice Matters” in conjunction with the Temecula Valley School District to spotlight kindness within the community.
