Professional Women Toastmasters will mark its 4th anniversary on March 22, 2020. In honor of the occasion, a celebratory meeting will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020. Members of the public are invited to learn more about Toastmasters or may attend the event by emailing Vice President of Public Relations, Kathy Sizemore at vppr-5077319@toastmastersclubs.org. Since 2016, the club has been dedicated to helping people become better speakers and leaders.
“Professional Women Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills,” says Mary O’Dwyer, President for Professional Women Toastmasters. “Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener,” says Kathy Sizemore, Vice President of Public Relations for Professional Women Toastmasters.
Some of the club’s charter members from the community include CPA Esther Phahla, DTM, and Alifah Achmad, DTM from the Interfaith Council of Murrieta & Temecula Valley.
“Joining this group was one of the best decisions I’ve made!”, says Brooke Nunn of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, “I have never been good at public speaking and to be honest, do not like it at all. With that said, public speaking is a skill that I could use in both my professional and personal life. What caught my attention with this group were three elements. The first is they are a very diverse group of women with many different perspectives and backgrounds. Secondly, they are extremely supportive, kind and intelligent. Finally, they create a very safe environment to grow as a speaker.”
Chartered with 20 members in 2016, Toastmasters Professional Women Toastmasters is located in District 12. The club meets every Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the University of Redlands, One Better World Circle, in the city of Temecula.
