Laurence H. Boggeln, M.D. has joined the Visiting Nurse Association California (VNA) as Medical Director for the VNA Hospice Program. A well-respected physician and philanthropist in the Inland Empire, Dr. Boggeln is responsible for oversight of the Agency’s Hospice Program, as well as the Medical Directors who coordinate patient care at the eight VNA California Hospice offices.

As the need for palliative care and hospice services increases, we want to ensure that our Hospice program continues to provide quality, compassionate care while addressing and respecting individual patient needs” commented Mike Rusnak, CEO of VNA California. While the landscape of healthcare delivery and reimbursement continues to change, it is important to stay focused on patient care. “Dr. Boggeln brings rich experience in end-of-life care. His oversight will allow us to build on the high standards we have set for our program.”

Dr. Boggeln is board certified in Family Practice and has a subspecialty in hospice and palliative medicine.
He is currently Chairman of the Board of Governors of Temecula Valley Hospital and Chairman of the Ethics Committees of both Southwest Healthcare System and of Loma Linda University Medical Center in Murrieta. Dr. Boggeln completed his internship and residency at Camp Pendleton and subsequently served a year as battalion surgeon. After completing active duty in the Family Practice department at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach, Dr. Boggeln served in the Naval Reserves where he was also in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Active in the Temecula Valley Community, Dr. Boggeln enjoys his family of nine children and seven grandchildren.
