Anthem Memory Care (Anthem), which owns and operates assisted living communities for people with memory loss in the U.S., has reached an agreement in principal to purchase 5.93 acres of land at 24325 Washington Avenue in Murrieta where it plans to create a community for people living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementia. The plan calls for the construction of an approximately 38,000 square foot community that will accommodate up to 76 full time residents with private one and two-person rooms available. Anthem will create approximately 50 full-time equivalent jobs upon the community’s completion.
“Riverside has been on our radar, and Murrieta’s two decades of tremendous growth and stability aligns well with the kinds of communities that work well for carrying out our mission to serve those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia,” said Isaac Scott, principal in charge of community development for Anthem Memory Care. “In communities that are relatively new and have not had to address its citizens going through all stages of life, we look to build a residence where people experiencing memory loss can be safe, engaged and loved. We are excited about the prospect of establishing an Anthem presence here.”
Anthem intends to break ground in Spring of 2015 and typically operates on a nine to ten month schedule for completion. Larry Markham, from Temecula-based Markham Development Management Group, Inc. (MDMG, lnc.) will provide civil engineering. Its architect is CB Two of Salem, Ore.
Andy Jones, from the San Diego office of Chapparal Land Company, is representing Anthem Memory Care in the land transaction. The Company has also contracted with Kassen Klein, who will consult on real estate entitlement and government relations.
