Your purse. If you’re like most women, your purse is far too heavy and carrying it around can cause repeated damage to your spine. Here’s an easy solution: Store items that you need only occasionally in a second purse that you keep in your car or trunk. Avoid using a purse that seems heavy even when empty.
Your phone. Improperly held, this lightweight device can result in serious damage to your spine, including arthritis. When talking, instead of tilting your head to one side to hold the phone, either hold it in your hand or use a headset. While texting or typing a number, hold the phone up in front of your eyes, and avoid looking down.
The need to stretch. Every day (and especially after exercising, or spending a long time sitting or standing), be sure to stretch your legs, arms and chest. Ask me for examples of great stretches you can do anywhere.
Don’t skip your next chiropractic check-up! Even if you’re feeling good, regular check-ups are important. Maintaining a healthy spine keeps your body functioning properly and will prevent flare-ups that can waste your time and money.
