Congressman Ken Calvert, who represents the 42nd Congressional District of Southern California, will be the headline speaker at the Temecula Valley Republican Women Federated (TVRWF) luncheon meeting at Wilson Creek Winery on Tuesday, October 15.
The 42nd Congressional District includes a large section of western Riverside County – including Canyon Lake, Corona, Eastvale, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Norco and Wildomar, as well as a portion of Temecula. Calvert was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992 and was an integral part of the “Contract with America” in 1994 that changed the House to Republican control for the first time in 40 years.
At the October meeting, Calvert will speak about current political divisions and challenges facing the Congress and the Obama administration. There will be a question-and-answer forum following his luncheon presentation.
Calvert serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is a member of the influential House Budget Committee. He is also a member of the House Defense Subcommittee, the Interior and Environment Subcommittee, and the Energy and Water Subcommittee.
Cost of the luncheon at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula is $20.00 and check-in is at 10:30 a.m. with a TVRWF business meeting at 11:00 a.m. Reservations are being handled by Ginny Aronson-Hoke, 951-246-7074 or at garonson-hoke@marykay.com.
“You will not want to miss this opportunity to meet and hear from your Congressman on so many important issues,” said TVRWF Vice President Julie Gilbart.
