Riverside County Assessed-Value Notices to be Available Online

Riverside County residents will soon be able to view and print their property value notices online on the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder (ACR) website.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved the assessor’s request to provide assessed value notices to owners of real and personal property via the ACR website instead of mailing printed notices. The change should save approximately $200,000 annually in taxpayer dollars that otherwise would be needed to cover labor and postage fees.  Notices will be available to the public July 15.  In the future, most value notices will not be mailed.

Value notices provide information for property owners whose properties have changed in value.  The most common reason for a notice is a decline in value caused when dips in the real estate market reduce a property’s value below its Prop. 13 base-year value. Other changes that trigger a value notice include construction in progress, changes to the assessment or parcel numbers and corrections made to property values.

Property owners can review their value notices at www.riversideacr.com.  Notices can be searched by assessor parcel number or by property address.  Property owners without access to the county website can obtain a printed value notice by calling (951) 955-6200. Owners also may write Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Larry Ward at P.O. Box 12004, Riverside, 92502-2204 or come to any of the office locations to pick up a notice.
