A Holiday Poem

‘Tis the season for giving and across the land, families celebrate among festive garland.  Such attention is paid to the dinner menu, it includes the favorite dish of your youngest nephew. The songs, joy and laughter will soon ensue, creating a memory that lasts decades for you,  but just when you thought the last doorbell had rung, more people come over to join in the fun.

Now Grandpa and Grandma, now old Uncle Sam.  Here’s a favorite cousin from East Birmingham. Now with a hug, or a peck on the cheek, you show care and affection to the boisterous and the meek.  In a blink of an eye, more such gifts can be given, to show love and protection, with your specific intention.

Just a bit of your time, so there’s no need to panic, about who receives what from the stacks in the attic.

Think ahead to the time you’ll need help and assistance, and pick those who you trust for their care and their patience.  Even when you are gone and can’t twitter or post, you’ll give comfort and ease when they all need it most.  They will hear you exclaim, though you are out of sight, “Happiness to you all, and with your brother don’t fight!”
