I am the president and co-founder of the business law firm of Hitzeman & Evenson, APC, and have been practicing in the Temecula Valley since February of 2004 and have been licensed to practice law in California since 1983. My practice currently focuses on business transactional and litigation matters and estate planning.
I was fortunate and honored to begin my legal career as an officer and attorney in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, serving for over 8 years in Virginia, Europe, Washington, DC, and the Presidio of San Francisco. In the Army I practiced criminal law at the trial and appellate levels, and as a special prosecutor. I then spent 12 years with the insurance defense firm of Parker & Irwin, as a shareholder and director, and was co-president/founder of Rosenstein & Hitzeman in Old Town Temecula. In addition to admission to the California Bar, I am also admitted to practice in the US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, US Tax Court, US District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California, and the US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
I am a graduate of Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington, and Whittier College School of Law, serving as Executive Editor of the Whittier Law Review.
I also served St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in various ministries, including its Parish Pastoral Council, beginning in 1996 and serving under three Pastors through January 2016, serving as its president for 11 of my 19 years on the Council. I also served on the Parish Finance Council for about 8 years and as Chair of two Building Fund Committees during that time. Mary and I are now pursuing studies and formation leading, God willing, to my ordination as a deacon in the Diocese of San Bernardino.
We raised our five children in the Temecula Valley since moving here in late 1992, and Mary and I now enjoy spending time with our two grandchildren. We love this community and doing business where we live.
