Executive Profile
II’ve always lived in California and we were always fortunate to have backyard pools. I love the water and it was always a great family activity. So it seemed only natural that I pursue something I love. Since moving here in 1987 I fell in love with Temecula and the whole community. I’ve been building pools here ever since. That makes it 40 years now in the design & build industry. Just this year we’ve re-branded Temecula Valley Custom Pools with an updated user-friendly website and a great new colorful logo. There is something exciting about meeting new clients that are looking for a family pool. They love the fact that I personally supervise their project from concept to completion, so they see a lot of me! I won’t tell you it hasn’t been tough working through the recession. Many builders have come and gone. With the projected growth in our beautiful Valley, it looks like I’ll be here a very long time.
AFFILIATIONS
Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, Rotary Club of Temecula, Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, Race for the Cure, TV Balloon & Wine Festival, Southwest County Boys & Girls Club (past Board member), Advisory Board for Commerce Bank of Temecula Valley, United States Army (1968-71).
BUSINESS PHILOSOPHIES
When you’re good at what you do and have a passion for it, then you are truly blessed. Know where your strength is and put it to use. I am not a ‘production’ company, I am a ‘relationship’ company that prides itself on a “hands-on” approach to every project.
FAVORITE SPORT
Having played both football and baseball, it’s a hard choice. Raquetball comes in at a close 3rd. And anything to do with water – swimming, surfing, skiing (water & snow) and of course, golf. You don’t have to be good at it to be a favorite.
GOALS
To continue to follow God’s plan for me. Making a difference in peoples’ lives, especially my 8 grandkids.
MENTORS
John Maxwell has been a special influence for me over the last several years. Teaching me how to love myself in order to love others and help them grow.
FAVORITE READING
Anything of John Maxwell’s 83 books, like “The Five Levels of Leadership” or “Intentional Living”. Currently reading “The One Thing” by Gary Keller with Jay Papasan. I find reading to learn is more fun for me than fiction.
RESUME
Claremont High School, Mt. San Antonio J.C., Cal Poly Pomona, attaining a business degree, after many years in performing arts. Playing guitar and singing in clubs… at the time it was called “Folk Rock” and we were known as “3’s Company”. With another group called “Eagles Wings”, we recorded an album and got to sing for the Pope in Los Angeles. I have four children – three girls and one boy. My son Rob sings with the Jersey Boys. I have eight (8) grandchildren and recently married Marcy, the love of my life.
BIRTHPLACE
A native Californian, born in Alhambra.
