Thoughts on Customer Service

by Destry & Shelley Johnson

It seems interesting to us that even though Real Estate is essentially a service industry, Real Estate professionals are largely known for providing the worst customer service of any other industry. Most agents are extremely attentive until the escrow opens, and then they tend to disappear. There are so many things that agents can do to provide great customer service, such as:

• Return all phone calls immediately (almost never done)
• Make sure that both buyer and seller clients know exactly what to expect during all phases of their purchase or sale.
• Update all clients weekly as to the status of their marketing efforts.
• Update all clients every 48 hours as to the status of their escrow.
• Make sure that clients have signed copies of all documents.
• Provide the highest level of skill in all negotiations.
• Be available for all of clients’ concerns or questions.
• Continual follow up long after the close.

LISTEN TWICE AS MUCH AS YOU TALK!!

We’ve worked several years continuing to perfect our level of customer service that we provide to all clients. We can only assume that the reason all of our previous clients continue to refer their friends to us is that they know we will provide the same level of service that they have all enjoyed. With the current market conditions, you cannot afford to waste time on anything less then a top quality broker. Be sure to call us immediately when you need to buy or sell.
