“Learning to Better Understand Yourself – What is Being Affected in You?” Topic January 7th for the Temecula Nafe meeting

Nafe Director Robbie Motter & Co-Director Shelly Rufin invite you to attend our Temecula Nafe 6pm meeting at Texas Lil’s in Old Town Temecula

We have a dynamic speaker Lori Brown-Wait who is flying in from Colorado.

Have you ever caught yourself in a rotten mood and/or angry or unhappy for no apparent reason? Lori will talk about the value of learning to look inside yourself and better understand what emotions, physiological factors and outside influences may be causing you to feel that way. Understanding what is going on inside yourself helps you overcome your stress and negative feelings.

Here is some information about our speaker – Lori Brown-Wirth retired in 2018 from the University of Wyoming to write her memoirs. Lori had her 2-year old son stolen and taken to Iran during the infamous Iranian hostage crisis in 1980, and later worked with Nicaraguan refugees in Costa Rica. At a later point of despair in her life, she turned to drugs and alcohol for solace. She soon discovered recovery, and went on to fulfill lifelong goals, work with teenagers helping them to prepare for college, and eventually aid in the return of her long-lost son. The book details these events and discusses her journey from a shy, insecure young girl in an abusive relationship, to the strong, confident, and caring woman she is today. Due to allegations of abuse in the book, she wrote her autobiography, Papas With Ponytails, under the pen name Alexandra Flowers.
